Recipies
Cooking hint: Tepary beans take a little longer to cook than pinto or navy beans. A convenient alternative for cooking is to combine two cups water or stock per cup of cleaned and washed beans in a crock pot. Use 3 or 4 cups of fluid per cup of beans for extra broth. Beans will be fully cooked in 8 to 10 hours without presoaking. They may also be pressure cooked for 45 minutes without presoaking. DO NOT add salt when cooking beans. Salty water makes the beans tough and splits the skins. Salt to taste after cooking.
